    What is the best way to find out what my motherboard can handle?

    An example of what I mean is how much RAM , what Graphics card , what processor etc.

    The motherboard I am currently using is ;

    ASUS A7V133 Jumper free PC133/VC133 200/266MHZ FSB AGP Pro/4X Socket A Motherboard.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if my motherboard is "dirt" what motherboard would you recommend buying?

    You can go to the ASUS support download site and pick out your motherboard and get a PDF version if the original product manual. That has complete specs in it.

    Looking at their site, I see four models of A7V133: A7V133, A7V133-C, A7V133-M, A7V133-VM. Not sure what the differences are, but I'm guessing yours is the "C" model. A7V133 and A7V133-C use the same manual, with the only difference being that A7V133 has a Promise RAID controller chip.

    You motherboard is not "dirt," but it is very old. Circa 2001, probably. It looks like is was a very good quality mobo for the time, too. I would probably not invest more than US$200-$300 in it, since you could put together a low-end gaming rig for $500 pretty easy. Parts for things that old will be more expensive, particularly RAM. And newer RAM tends to be made with more dense integrated circuits that older motherboards are not logically capable of recognizing (not that you will have a problem, but you might).

    Casual overview of the manual suggests you can use PC100 or PC133 DIMMs of up to 512 MB in size in all three sockets for a total of 1,535MB.
