I Need To Learn

I am copying my original post from "What Does This Mean?" in the software section. There's more if you access the thread.

"The Local Area Connector on my W7 PC lists IPv4 connector and IPv6 connector. Both must be connected to get online - at least till today. The IP4 is online and the IP6 says "no internet access."

Yet I AM online. But BOTH are supposed to be connected. Could you educate me as to what these two connectors are, and where I can find them on my PC? Can you explain why now only one needs to be connected to go online? That doesn't sound right at all.

Since I seem to have a built-in hack, problems don't surprise me - and my important data is safe elsewhere. But I've had a big problem because it often disconnects me, and it takes half an hour to get back online. Since these disconnects only happen when I'm at a political site, it's no surprise, either, especially since it disconnected me last night from the SOTU speech and it took 20 minutes to get it back - I missed most of his ranting about the wall. Again, no big deal, since it's probably on youtube.

My IP4 and 6 connectors are probably involved in these disconnects. If you know, could you educate me as to HOW they go about disconnecting me from the internet? I'd like to know how it's being done, so I can study it. I may find a way to thwart it.

    Thanks muchly,
    Holly B."

I was corrected about the IPv6 - it can say no internet access while I can still be online. But I still don't know what it's for, then. Why have it if it doesn't matter? If I didn't have it at all, what would happen? Where are the files for these two connectors located? I want to study them. I guess I'm more curious than most. Can't help it.

I'm not looking for a solution to my hacker because I know how to do it - format C and reinstall the OS. Which I will do. For now, I want to LEARN how it is able to disconnect me from the internet - it happens often and I want to look for ways to thwart it. And it only happens on political or news sites, so I know it is political in nature. I don't expect to identify the hackers, but I DO want to learn what some of their methods are on MY PC.

It slows my PC to a crawl, too, and I think I have an idea how that's done, but can't uncover it. It seems my browser (Chrome) loads every page I go to two or more times. I can't access them, but I know they are there when Chrome asks me if I want to wait for, say, "New Tab" to finish - but it asks this for up to 4 New Tabs, with a scroll bar so I can see them all. But when I have only one, the others are also loading behind my back and slowing down everything. It does likewise with actual sites I visit. I've stopped responding at all to these notices, because they don't help at all, and may be connected to the malware from my hacker.
As soon as I close my browser the slowness goes away. My browser has also been influenced to deprive me of commenting on some sites, even after logged in. I find that even being logged in, I can't access my own profile - access denied or prohibited. These suckers really mean business.
And I intend to mean just as much business - back. By thwarting them. I've already thwarted a few things -nothing of great assistance, but any thwarting is good.

The hack will return, you see. It is a very sophisticated hack that tries to "phone home" using Roaming folders and files - I caught it because I don't use ANY wireless. Most people wouldn't catch it because they DO use wireless. I want to be better armed with knowledge than I am now, before formatting C.

Can you help educate me? Should I maybe go to some hacker sites - the kind that have reformed and are now helping people? Don't know who any of them are. Do you?

    Thank you!
    Holly B.

Thanks, but it isn't a cure for my problems that I seek. They are old, and I've had them several times after reinstalling C. The problems come back.
Now I am not worried, because my data is safe. I've tried cures, but they don't find the hack. I have already found some ways to thwart them, but they aren't much. I apply them every time I go online, and I know they help - but not much. One simple thwart is that I only use incognito, because if I don't, there will be up to 1500 useless files in the Chrome cache. That slowed me a lot, and it's better now, but there are other things slowing my system.

Sometimes they disconnect my local area connector. Sometimes they turn off the sound. Lots of other stuff. I've learned a lot, but there's still a lot more I haven't found.

What I want is for someone to explain to me what you would do if you wanted to slow someone's computer down to a crawl. Could you secretly load browser tabs in duplicate or triplicate? What kind of files would they use, and where on my system might they be? Stuff like that.

If I can understand how they do things, I can look in my PC for myself to find them. Then I would try to thwart them or make it rebound on them.

Since all my problems will come right back after a week following format of C, I'd like to learn all I can about HOW they do these things. Where, in my system might be the files clogging my memory. Stuff like that. Could it be in the registry? If so, what key words will help to find them.

I realize that it may take someone who knows how to hack. That's not the kind of specialization you have here. They are experts of a different variety. But I was hoping you could possibly know enough to help me or refer me to a site where there are former hackers working on finding hackers. Maybe you could ask around to guide me to a hack site that has given up crime!

If you can't, it's okay. Just tell me. I know it's an unusual question. But if I found a hacker on my own, I wouldn't know if it was a good one or a bad one. That's why I'm asking here. You might be able to guide me.
    Thanks
    Holly B.

Can you recommend a good program that finds junk or bad stuff in the registry? I used to have one with W98, but can't find a good one now. I'm sure my registry is dripping with bad stuff. I found one bad folder, but it always comes back. I have to delete it every time I boot up. I can't read most of the stuff that uses symbols and stuff. Do you know where I could "translate" what they say?

Who is "they"? There is absolutely no reason to "clean" your registry. If you are having malware issues, please follow the Read and Run First instructions and Attach the logs on your next post.
