I need wifi reception cabability / suggestions?

I have an HP,desktop. Want to receive wifi. Mostly for music downloads,tv streaming,etc. I have seen several units available, LinkSys ultra range plus for 2.0 usb and another one or type is the eub9701 ext 2 which has external antennas. Is a unit with external antennas more sensitive, able to pick up weaker signal than unit with no ext antenna? Suggestions appreciated.

I would say a unit with external antenna should be able to pick the signal better.

 

The absolute best way is if you can hard wire it with an Ethernet cable and then it is not subject to atmospherics.
I personally use Devolo which turns the whole house into a network and i can plug any PC into any power outlet in the house and get full broadband, but it is not the cheapest system on earth.
