I REALLY need help!!!!

I have picked up the bravesentry trojan and am having trouble getting rid of it. Can anyone direct me to some freeware that will ELIMINATE it completely??? PLEASE!!!

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)

• Bitdefender
• Panda Scan
• HijackThis

 

I think you for responding to my post. I am sorry that I didn't do those steps first BUT, I did and they were a bit hard for me to follow (for some reason) BUT, I have spent all night trying to follow them the best I could and I finally decided to do a system restore. Which helped a BIT! The trojan came back!!! BUT, then I was soooo frustrated that I decided to run all my saftey programs ONE AT A TIME. and So, I ran AVG first and that found it BUT didn't heal it. Then I ran the CCleaner, same thing. SO, I ran your Spybot S&D and you know what? It DID IT!!!! It got rid of that awful virus! I only wish I ran it first and then I could have gotten some sleep!!! I am STILL getting popups tho! ANy suggestions on how to stop them? I want to thank you for all your info and also the help with the freeware! I am soooo thankful for that! Without it, I would be a fish with no water insight! Kudos to all of you!

 

We use freeware programs to clean your system. However they are not for the unexperienced.

I can not tell you what to use unless I know what has infected your computer.

Following the intructions I gave you and posting the logs, will tell me what we are dealing with,

 

I posted that I used the spybot Seek & Destroy and it cleared it up. I was invaded by Bravesentenal and was not able to get to it very easily. BUT, I finally saw that in the help message (format) that I should use the Spybot S&D before I asked for help. So I did and it got to the ROOT of the problem. We still deal with popups once in a while. I was wanting to know if there is a good program that will end that problem BUT that we are able to participate in Neopets. I want to thank you all for the opportunity to give us the tools we need to keep online! We (my sweety and I) are very grateful for the advise and help from MG!

 

Depends on what browser you use. I personally use Firefox with the Fasterfox extension; which, blocks most popups on most sites. Goto and surf NeoPets, all the time, no problems.

 

You also go to Neopets? My username is the same as on here. I tried Firefox once and didn't really like it, BUT that was with our other puter and it was really slow (dinosaur). BUT we just got this one and it is a WHOLE lot better! Need a larger HD tho. Tried to get one thru eBay but didn't get it. Will try again soon tho. We have only a Pent3 and 6gig and I really need at least a 40gig. I want to get into graphix. Anyway, I think I will try FF again and see how it goes this time. Thanx for the info.

Hello, having new problems. . . UUGH! The window keeps freezing now and the task manager won't close after stopping the program. I seem to have lost it. I have to reboot to make the window go away, but then, it freezes again. I can't read my email and respond to it. I ran spybot and avg and also ccleaner and they find nothing. I have taken Firefox off the puter by the add and delete programs. It started when I downloaded it.
I have another problem also, We just bought a HP printer and I have installed all the software and checked the troubleshooting section and I checked all the wires and such BUT it still does not work. The puter recongnizes the printer BUT it will not print. It builds up in the task window and it says it is ready to print, but it doesn't do it. Have any suggestions?
