I think I'm in need of some huge help, because I keep having some problems with my comp, including Windows Defender not wanting to remove Purityscan, it having errors, my ATI drivers won't update without problems (my 1440x900 monitor will say "mode not supported" when it was supported by previous drivers), and speaking of, the ATI drivers will stop responding at random times (basically whenever it feels like it), Windows Explorer takes FOREVER to load and when it does, it seems to want to stop responding whenever it wants, Internet Explorer is a pain to use (text boxes seem to not want to register letters I type in IE, and the Windows Explorer issue goes on there, too).

I got a LOT on this comp, so it could be ANYTHING that is the problem. That and because I play games a lot on here and because that cursor update thing has caused the games to refuse to play, I have told it to not automatically update anything unless I say for it to, I'm afraid to install any updates, and now I'm wishing I had installed some of these, since I really got it screwed up somehow.

    The HJT log is attached.

Problems with your ATI drivers should be discussed in the hardware forum.

Windows taking a long time to load is due to what you are running.

For PurityScan, run the below, but you really should run the full READ & RUN ME sticky procedure.

    1. Download this file - combofix.exe
    2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
    3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

That program doesn't work with Vista (my OS), it says.

Sorry about that! I did not notice that you were running Vista.

How the heck did you get Vista so badly infected?

Did you turn off UAC and then leave it off?

Even if it is no longer off, you are going to have to turn it off now to run some of the items that are in the below required procedure. Since you have Vista, the removal procedure for the multilayered Virtumonde, WinLogonhook and other infections you have may not work properly. We shall see! However, this may be the only way to find all the hidden malware on your PC.

NOTE: The below procedure is a standard cleaning procedure which has not yet been adapted to make allowances for Vista. When you get to step 6, you will have to skip the BitDefender and Panda ActiveScan online scans since they will not work with Vista. And as noted above. You will have to make sure UAC is disabled to run GetRunKey and ShowNew.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, renaming, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy. - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
