i-tunes

I know this is probably off topic but didn't know where else to post it. I had to do a fresh install of windows and lost about everything including my i tunes library. I still have the music on my i pod. Is there any way that I can download from my ipod to music library on itunes. Thanks

 

I'd be interested to know this too, as I have it all set up on my desk-top PC and would now like to load everything I have stored on my iPod onto my laptop, which also has iTunes.

I have found a site with a free download that is supposed to enable you to transfer files from your ipod to itunes. Since I am not very technically oriented I am afraid to use it for fear I will lose all of my music off of my ipod. If there any brave souls out there who are more technically savy then I am the download is located at http://www.sturm.net.nz/website.php?Section=iPod+Programs&Page=SharePod. If you have any success please let the rest of us know how it went. As soon as I plug my ipod in I get the advice on the screen not to unplug it and I know from past experience this is the message I get before it erases everything and updates so I unplugged it immediately. Sure hope somebody can test the waters and let us know how to use this product.

It was a little more convoluted than these instructions, as there is no folder called <Library> anywhere, but I got there in the end.
