I uninstalled MS Works while cleaning a friends PC... Help!

Now I'm told that all of the saved work is missing. I didn't think MS Works documents were save in the MS Works program. I thought these documents were saved in the "My Documents" folder just like MS Office documents. Am I wrong?

If so, what you you guys recommend to get these files back? recuva, windows restore, or ... ?

Uninstalling the program does not remove the data files (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) created with it. By default, I believe the files would normally be saved in My Documents, but they could have been saved in any other folder, as well.

Does your friend say he saved his files in My Documents? I'd search the entire hard drive, using a wildcard, i.e. *, with the file extension. For example, is the file extension for Works word processing files .wps? If so, then search on *.wps.
