I started with a missing file and did something in recovery, now Ihave lots of errors in device manage. I fixed most of them but 2.
I need the ialmnt5.sys driver for intel graphics media accelerator and multimedia audio controller
soundmax integrated digital audio.
I am so confused I cannot find these anywhere on my harddrive so i must have reinstalled windows or something. help please.

 

Is your computer a name brand like DELL or HP? Tehy will have drivers on their site for your model. Or post your model and we can have a look.

 

i can only find netvista on the front of it. not sure if that helps.

 

we got this as a rebuilt computer.

 

Still, check the tag on the back of the PC. It should have a model number. Netvista is IBM so they should have drivers available.

Right now, you have no display adapter installed? The font is very large?

 

there was a model number on the bottom, said IBM and the number most of it is scratched off, all that is left is 72u.

 

and it the display settings are at lowest 4bit and I cannot change a thing. and yes big.

 

I'm having trouble with that number. There should be 4 numbers before the 72u can you get even one of them?

This is the site that will host your drivers but we have to narrow down the model number.

If the serial number is clear that might be a possibility.

You can try SIW (install and run) and see what is says for System Summary. Does it give a model number? Belarc Advisor will give less detailed information but may give the model number as well.

By the way are you running XP? or 2000? It looks like those shipped with Win2000.

 

I looked around and because of your original ialmnt5.sys error, I think this page will give you the correct video driver.

Your error points to a problem with an Intel driver and of the two common NetVista models ending in 72u only the 2276 has Intel video.

I'd give it a try. Unless you are running XP in which case we will have to find a more current driver for the 810 chipset. Which Intel.com will have available.

 

ok, i am running windows xp professional. I ran the SIW and it gave me the serial number KCC5W2X and the product name is 830541u. I cannot find the model number and I cannot get onto this site from that computer. the browser keeps crashing.

 

That product number goes to a different model than the 72u but I would use it because it lists XP drivers which is what you a probably running. Does SIW list anything under motherboard or Video that looks like Intel xx845 or Intel xx810? If the product number is correct it should be Intel 82845 chipset.

So this would be the drivers for your model number. IBM/Lenevo site. For video I would use the Intel driver since it relates to your error. Try the video first and then we can worry about audio.

Are you saying you can't get to the Lenevo site or MajorGeeks with your browser? The downloads are exe(s). You can download them on a different PC and copy them to a flash drive or CD and then put them on the netvista PC. There are instructions ate the bottom of the video driver page on how to install.

 

I think that computer is a big pile of garbage. It has not been stable since we got it. always rebooting itself and the browser always crashing. Anyways, the closet thing I can find in the info was under the motherboard which said
north bridge intel i845g revision a1. I tried both those exe programs you told me to try.

 

So the one in post 11 should be it. You ran the exe it unpacked the files to C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\E49Z77US. You ran the setup and what happened?

You realize you have to run the e49z77us.exe and then go to that folder C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\E49Z77US and run the setup. Or run the e49z77us.exe and then use the Start>Run>C:\IBMTOOLS\DRIVERS\E49Z77US\Setup.exe, then click OK.

 

yes I ran that file and installed it. Now my video is back, many thanks. the only thing that has a question mark now is the audio controller. everything else is done. everytime I installed a driver i got error messages but i clicked install anyways and the only one that wont install is that audio controller one.

 

Is this the SoundMax driver you are trying to install and getting errors?

 

oh i didnt try that sound driver i was just letting the computer try whatever it could find, its just every driver for every thing I have installed even the video driver,and the mouse. all drivers but I will try that sound driver and let you know.

 

k, i cannot install driver when i try i get "setup failed to launch instalation engine. The RPC server is unavailable"
