I'm soon going to purchase a used laptop but the guy said that the battery is about to die out... If this happens would i still be able to use it if i plug it in with the AC Adapter? He also told me that there is another problem with the screen, this is what he said
'The screen takes a bit to go on, if you move it back all the way and then back to normal, it works fine'
Someone had replied back to him telling him that an LCD Inverter would fix that problem does anyone know much about this LCD Inverter?

That sounds more like the ribbon that feeds the LCD then the inverter. It could also just be a bad connection on the inverter or the back of the LCR or where the ribbon connects to the mainboard. It could also be a failing backlight but not likley.

[edit] I forgot to mention that you can use it plugged in with a bad battery and it will work but you should leave the battery in the machine even if it's bad. It acts as somewhat of a shockabsorber to prevent voltage spikes to the mainboard.

I hope your not paying to much.. we use IBM/Leveno here on a 3 yr lease and I am sending T30's back currently.. that will sell for 350. on Ebay (which is 15% of original price if we buy 'em out). So if your on Ebay and see a load of laptop's 'just off lease' that is how they set the price.

    just FYI..
