Ibm T23

I have an IBM thinkpad T23 I use it for college but today when I turned it on I had nothink on the screen. I hooked it up to my regular monitor and it works fine. After a while from switching back to forth from LCD to my monitor I realized their was a picture. But it was very very weak. Almost impossible to see so did my light burn out or a loose connection?

 

LCD crystals dont emit any light,if theres a picture just very dim It would appear the light is still working but a setting has been turned all the way down,best place to start would be to go through every hardware and software setting you can find and check they are all up of course while your comp is connected to a monitor

Hey no problem ,is there any kind of manual brightness adjustment on the outside of notebook if so I would guess this would be the broken part not the bulb,have you tried switching the laptop on in a completely darkened room to check if theres any light

 

Nah, if there was a setting that was turned down, it would be on the external monitor as well. It sounds to me like your LCD is fubar. The backlight probably died.

 

YA I was kinda thinking the same thing so can I buy a backlight or a whole new LCD?

Aight so whatcha em I doin. Lol u guyz respond quicker then the software guys I think I'm going to now post all of my software problems in the hardware section. LOL j/p

 

Its just because we were here online,the software guys do a great job, there seem to be alot more and complex posts in the software forum also
