Laptop won't load into windows or wont allow me to reload it. After I place the disc in the drive, it states repeatedly (load needed DLLs for kennel) Can someone help me figure this problem out? Thanks

    Hi,

You mentioned that the DLL message comes up when the CD is in, what does it say when you try booting into windows without the CD, can you enter it in safe mode?

What CD is it, Is it a windows installer or a "Restore Pack" type of CD.

Have you checked the boot order in the BIOS on the laptop to make sure it's set to start from CD first?

Yes I have and the same message comes up with or w/o the disc in. How do I boot to safe mode?

Booting into safe mode should be straightforward, you simply press the "F8" Key at startup (before you see the Windows "Splash Screen" (The one that has the moving bar going across it as it loads))

When you press it, it should come up with a menu with options to start windows normally, or in safe mode.

What version of windows is it?

If it comes up with the same message both with and without the windows CD, I suspect it may not be as straightforward as a simple windows reload, How long have you had the laptop, was it working before?

I had not used it for several months, when i turend it on it foze, so i tried to reinstall winxp pro. it goes through the setup then when it is installing windows, at the 34 - 36 minutes remaining, it just freezes. I have it set to boot from the cd drive, also tried from the c: drive. still freezes. I have removed the RAM chips , onre at a time thing it was a hardware problem.

I had an Ibm T20.....I had the same problem....
I found out that they are known for having bad ram......
    Rams always go bad.......
Use Memtest86 and see if you have a bad chip...
