Icon problem

Can someone help me my desktop icons and the icons in the program part of the start menu have the internet explorer showing and when i click on it the explorer page comes up.Can someone help fix my problem. Thank you

 

I'm not understanding your problem, unless you are saying all programs show the IE icon. Can you explain a little further please.

 

Hi yes it is on all program icons on desktop and program menu in start up.

 

So, how do you know that when you click on an icon it should be opening something different to IE? Does it say next to the icon the real name of that program, or does it say IE next to all the IE icons?

What version of IE do you have installed?

 

It has only just happened the icon usually when u install a program one icon goes on the desktop one in the programs start menu shortcuts but at the moment all icons have internet icon. I have internet explorer 7

 

On your desktop in a blank area, right click and select Properties. Click the Appearance tabs and then clikc the Effects button. Is "large icons" checked? If not, check it and reboot, and let us know if that works.
