Anyone know of a good, preferrably free program to modify all the icons in XP?

I'm trying Icon Packager, but the lingering nag screen when I close it pisses me off so bad that I won't buy it, just on that premise.

Style XP is what you are looking for. You can change icons, boot screens, log on screens, visual styles, backgrounds, and more, its awesome.

Ok, let me rephrase.

Preferrably in this case means, I want it to be freeware

I'm using hacked uxtheme.dll, style xp is not something I need.

Now...if I can't find a new hacked uxtheme.dll by the time SP2 rolls around, then I might get it. But only then.

uxtheme.dll for SP2 2161 and 2162.. are around ( most likely I have it downloaded somewhere or have link for you... will look ) dunno how well its works but if it was V's work then it will be fine

his sites having a overhaul ... of late he's been having some asses on the net repackaging his work as there own! ( credit with credits due he's one talented chap )

as for the Icon changes I have at present I just use Properties > Change Icon and if one I want on the desktop eg. IE6 wont play ball use a shortcut and change that icon.. works ok.

as for changing DLLs ... namely Shell32 I have used this app Replacer in the past as it gets you past the WFP messages http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/

a new release from devilindisguise sees his superb GUI work again in GANT OCEAN 2 http://www.devilindisguise.tk/

( WARNING tho when changing the Shell GUI of XP its not to be taken lightly as you can enter problems or render your OS DEAD!!! )

if your like me and Image/Clone your OS install on regular basis then trying these things out is fun
