icons all messed up

i was having a problem in which windows explorer would not start. if i tried to start it as a new task, it would get removed out of the process list. once i resolved that however, all of my icons were all messed up. the icons would be associated with their proper program for opening, but the icon itself, the icon images were all mesed up. i have tried everything to resolve this issue, i thought maybe it as something to do with a piece of malware stil on my system, but it still wont resolve itself. i followed all directions for posting my hijack this log, and i have attached it for review, because hopefully there is something within that file that will tell us what is going on. thank you
