    Hey

Do you know a way to set icons on top of Firefox menu line ?

Try unchecking the 'Tabs on top'.

satrow, are you sure "icons" = tabs here? Seems odd to call a tab an icon.

Also, we should note this is Firefox 4.

Well, I think the default setting in FX 4 is to have the tabs above the 'icons', which is the reverse of previous versions. I just assumed that Jorn has ver. 4 and wanted things back as before.

So, "icons" are not = tabs, right?

So, again, what do "icons" mean here? Do you mean the Navigation toolbar, the Menu bar, the Bookmarks toolbar, or what?

    It is on the top:
    Files - Edit - Show - History - Bookmarks - Functions - Help

(Believe they have those names - I use Danish language, and translated it to English, hope it is the same names ...)

    Actually, the menu items are:
    File - Edit - View - History - Bookmarks - Tools - Help

So, you want icons on the menu bar. And, so far, you haven't found a way to do it with Firefox 4, right? I don't know whether there might be an add-on available now that will do that. I think you may need to wait until CuteMenu Chrystal SVG gets updated to work with Firefox 4.

You may want to download the Add-on Compatibility Reporter? You can then send a request (to the author) to update the add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/

There is also a (perhaps dangerous) way to make the add-on work in about:config but doing that may break Firefox. If you are determined to take the chance, then google "extensions.checkCompatibility4.0". I don't want to give any further instructions as I don't want to be held responsible for any breakage. Personally I would wait for an update, especially given the complexity of the add-on and Fx 4.

The menu line can either appear or disappear. As far as I'm aware, the icons/navigation bar can not be moved above the menu line.

plodr, you've added another twist to this thread. You're saying the icons Jorn Rudolph is talking about is the navigation toolbar, right? I thought we had determined he was talking about the Menu bar. :confused

    His first post
The line with the icons is called the Navigation toolbar (I'm going by the choices in the VIEW menu). He wants to put the forward. back, stop, reload icons ABOVE the words File, Edit, View etc (Menu bar).
As far as I'm aware you can not switch the location to have the Navigation Toolbar (icons), above the Menu bar (words).
