ICQ Password Stolen

Hi All,

This is an old problem, but I thought maybe you could ponder on this and help with the solution. A couple of years back, my ICQ number was stolen, password obtained by someone probably with a password runner program. Shame on me for having a simple password, never again.

When this happened back in 2003, I had to reopen an email account with earthlink (the only email listed on my icq account) where the ICQ password retrieval system would send the password, however it came back encrypted, encoded, whatever, like this:


ICQ was extremely slow responding, and after 30 days, I closed the earthlink account since they were no help, no since in paying for a dial up account along with my cable.

Does anyone know how to decode these symbols, or is it even possible? Is there another solution to getting this back? Has anyone else had this problem in the past?
