Id like some help with a Aeris Tocuhtone Phone/modem

    Goldenskull I can't follow the rules

    I just had this replaced not to long ago.I would say 4 to 5 months ago.

    I just had Armstrong cable guy come back out and switch out the old connections.

    And my Phone Keeps droping phone and internet.

    Every time this happens i have to disconnect the main cable to the modem.

    The guy replaced this connection and the connections out in the box.

    I still don't know way it is doing this.I did have a bad lighting strike the other day i don't know if this is the cause.

    I looked in my event log on the modem

    I am getting these errors.
    [SIZE=-1]SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Failed to receive MAC SYNC frame within time-out period

    I spelled the Modem wrong lol.

    It is a Arris Touch tone phon / modem bye comcast but Armstrong cable use's it as well.

    It is just odd it is just the modem that keeps cutting in and out.

    The tec guy switched out all of the end parts on all of the cable's.

    Just happend to day some kinda cutt out i have to take the main black cable and remove it and let it reset for like 2mins i tried the Reset button but it does not seem to help.Them Below are the event log's in the modem it self.

    8/15/12 would be to day i think the timers on the modem are off.Seems i keep getting a Time out issue.A few days be for PA had a few nasty thunder storms.It is a good chance the modem got hit.

    I think i solved the issue the Back up battery.

    I took out the Back up battery i havent had a single issue in the last hour.

    I have 2 STO online games running plus my WMP internet radio and plus my Firefox.

    Not one discconnect in the last hour or so.

    Be for the Battery was on and every 5 or 10 mins i would keep getting a cutt out on the modem's Phone and internet.

    I have a Tech guy coming in the morning.So i will just have him replace the modem.

    Kinda odd that the Battery would be causing this kinda issue.

    The Back up Battery holds a 2 hour charge if the power goes out.And lets you use the phone but not internet.

    Ok now i found out i had a Bad wire on the Main cable out side on the Polls guy cut the older connection off then replaced and now Boom that seemed to be the real issue the connection was about 6 years old they have to replace them every so often out side connection's get weather Warn from the snow heat cold rain.So that really did not surprise me at all that it was the main connection on the powerlines.

    Sorta unrelated, but it always cracks me up when i have to call tech support and they tell me a supervisor isn't available. You ever get that? Its like bs, i worked in the industry and there is 99% of the time someone higher then the guy answering the phone to deal with angry/upset customers.
