I am going to buy a new set of memory sticks and I want to sell my old memory. The thing is that I don't know the speed. Is there a program that will give me all required information to make a cost estimation? I have Sandra installed but I am not sure where to look.

    Hi Sailor,

Sandras location for finding memory type is Hardware > Mainboard and scroll down the listing and you will find the info

    Or easier is

Everest, can find this info from Motherboard > SPD

Thanks, found all the info with Everest. Now how much would you cost this:
    DDR-SDRAM 512 MB
    Speed:200 Mhz
    CAS 3-3-3-8

    It is 6 months old.
I was thinking about 30-20 Euros.

Did it mention a brand Sailor as branded memory and PCxxxx number ( ie. PC2700 ) will command a better price than that of non-branded generic?

But that price seems fair when comparing and converting EURs to GBPs.

He..., I can't remember the brand and I didn't see it anywhere on Everest. I am sure it's either OCZ or Corsair.
    OK thanks

When you buy your new memory, keep the packaging to store and post the old in. The supplier will send the new in suitable anti-satatic packing, that might be otherwise hard to get. Cooking foil is also good.

CPU-Z also shows the brand of memory as well.

    Hi guys,

I hope it's ok to jump in this thread. Halo, I am trying to add to the ram in my girlfriends laptop. I tried Everest in the motherboard/SPD area you mentioned but nothing shows up. It's Vista home edition, but all the other section in Everest show info. Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi Tater,
Go to crucial and put the model # of the laptoip into their memory finder.

You will also need to know what size the current modules are, everest will tell you that.

    Thanks Studiot,

I've already done what you said (found the upgrade from Crucial) but I wanted to check the timing, speed... of the existing Ram to make sure they're comparable. I've tried Everest but for whatever reason (maybe a Vista issue?) it doesn't show any info about the Ram. I checked in the motherboard/SPD area that Halo mentioned but the field is blank.
