1st u need to know that the only thing i know about computers is through messing about with them, i basically have no experience especially malware since this is the 1st problem in 6 years.

I torrented a video file (which to be honest i was suspicious of) i think it was a .rar file which i tried to view in zoomplayer but was told it needed to be opened in wmp. I opened it in wmp but it said i needed to download a hdtv thing it looked relatively legit (but i was really suspicious at this point) so i agreed to download.
I can't really remember what happened because it was 5 days ago now, but basically a VIRUS ALERT! thing appeared in the bottom right corner of the screen, the background changed to an alert thing with 'win32/privacyremover.m64' and summit else, 3 links were added Malware Defender, Protect your privacy and System error fixer,it disabled my firewall, stops me from going into properties, removes all options on the right hand side of the start menu and then a count down thing is started by ntservice or something giving me 60 seconds to panic before it shutdown my computer.

I restarted my computer and the countdown thing did it a few more times then stapped for some reason, so i tried to add/remove programs deleting stuff that i didn't like the look of. tat didnt help so i searched for the warning in the background on the net. i got a guide telling me to download smitfraudfix.exe which i followed but that didn't help much as i stil got trojans popping up. I then downloaded malwarebites and scanned my computer which cleared some stuff away but after reset and clearing temp folders a windows installer opened almost strait away and a DoS window thing came up which i closed but it kept coming and eventually said copied 1 file.

i restarted and he 2 links were back and i was pissed i realised that there were on my computer that the stuff was coming from so i manually searced for it i deleted all items created since that day, i had already deleted the torrent file and then i went into WINDOWS and did something really stupid (again) i started to delete files i didn't like the look of but after reseting i decided that this was dangerous so i returned them from my bin, although i may have properelly removed some :(, i then tried removing a file that i thought was a faker called rundll32 wich i believed wasnt in the right place whch i now realise is essential and when i 1st log on to my computer i can only open 1 program before i can't do anything but browse my files...

so now after all that and some more, i have decided that i have been stupid in trying to do this alone and come to you stumped and ashamed, should i try removing this stuff? or should i just cut my losses and reboot? please please please help me sort this an protect for the future, if there is anything else you need to know ill try my best 2 help, ty!

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
