idt hdmi (code 10)

so i noticed i was having an error under my device manger for idt hdmi and im not sure how to exactly fix this
ive been reading up on it through google searches on sites and some people are saying if you do a rollback it fixes it, i tryed that and it didn't work no sound

so im wondering if there's anything to fix it
because i was also having problems with my cd-dvd rom drive and there was this link to fix it http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=145532 and i was wondering if anybody out there has a file i can download thats like that but for idt hdmi? or of any drivers they now of

Welcome to Major Geeks. The Acer website has no driver support for Vista for your model of PC (unless it's a laptop; Acer has both 5630 desktops and laptops). However, you have a Realtek hidef audio (IDT and RealTek are the same), and an Intel chipset. Download both drivers, install the chipset first, reboot, then install the audio driver.

nope its a acer aspire AM6530 desktop with 2 gb's of ram and 360 gb's hard drives
so do i unistall the realtek audio i have already have on my computer first before installing the realtek program i downloaded?

 

While it's not mandatory, it's probably a good idea. That way you make sure that the new one is going in 'clean'.

 

one more question what file on Intel Chipset link you gave me do i download
the first one: 1.

windows wont even let me unistall the realtek i already have on it keeps bringing up the error pop-up when windows fins something wrong with what your doing

it says something about setup.exe has stopped working

 

Try uninstalling in safe mode, or disable the sound card in the device manager first, then uninstall the driver. Then re-enable it after a reboot, and install the new driver.

For the Intel chipset, use the 2nd one (not the zip). It's easier to install, but other than that they are the same.

is it necessary to redownload the realtek or no?
another question when i went into the device manger it still had that caution sign i told you about in a past post. am i suppose to restart my computer for it to come be in "play" if you will

 

If you already downloaded it, and you haven't deleted the download, then there is no need to download it a 2nd time.

Always restart the PC after installing any driver, even if you're not prompted to. I checked the past posts and found nothing about a caution sign in the device manager; please provide some more details...

i dont think that'll work because the version you told me to download from the first link was R 1.94 this other one is R 1.91

im starting to think something deleted the idt hdmi from the registry

 

They are different things; the first one is a full audio driver, the second one is a file exclusively for the IDT HDMI problem (lots of people are having an issue with it).

 

yeah i installed it and it didn't appear to work lol
