Ie 6 Sp1

Greetings all,

Here's my issue with IE6:

When I run windows update it shows that I need to run
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB867801)
Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 SP1 (KB823353). So I select install and I end up with,

The following updates failed to be installed successfully:


Security Update for DirectX 9.0 (KB839643)
Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (KB867801)
Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express 6 SP1 (KB823353)

So I have downloaded these files on the local HD and when I try and run them I'm told that

"This update requires IE6 to be installed". That's fine and dandee but I'm already running IE6 SP1!

So do you folks have any ideas about this??

Run the system file checker by going to start. run.. type CMD hit enter.
At the prompt type SFC /SCANNOW

this will replace corrupted files.

You should not have a cipher of 12bits listed.

 

my cipher strength is at 12 bit.
This is happening on a couple of clients.
I will run sfc and get back to you.
