IE 8 & Bing, With MSN issues

Since my friend downloaded IE8 and that useless Bing, Which yes we have it semi kicked out though it still hijacks the MSN search bar.

Problems are, how to remove Bing totally, and why has it Hijacked her Live Messenger. it gives Error Code 80070005, all I can find is info on permissions, which in Vista for some reason it wont let me edit.

It is a single person used computer with Administrator rights.

Vista Home basic, Oh yes and a HP but then you would have guessed that

 

I am a little confused in what you are asking.

Bing is a Microsoft provided search engine. It only makes sense its going to be used by an MSN toolbar and Windows Live Messenger?

 

I wish, it was only a search engine, But since allowing the Automatic Update with the IE8,Windows Live Messenger no longer works.

So it maybe a jump but as Bing will not allow itself to be removed, and IE itself keeps trying to put it back in.

If not Error 80070005, doesnt give me much to work with, Windows Live worked up until the IE8 install.

 

Well, I will look into that error, but I assure you Bing is JUST a search engine.

 

Make a new account and see if Messenger works there.

 

Finally got there, not with a new account, deleted her password, exited MSN and then reinstated her password. Have didnt work the first time around, but did work eventually.

Lovely girl didnt tell me that on top of installing IE8 she also password protected her computer, at the same time.
