I'd like to reduce the footprint of my IE, see pic.

Can I remove either of the bars indicated by the red arrows.

I know F11 eliminates the header altogether, but I would just like to minimize the amount of screen taken up while still showing the menu bar.

Especially that useless translucent bar above the address bar. Waste of screen space.

    Win 7, 64 bit.

Well if you use F11 and mouse over the top of the screen then it restores the menu, and when you don't need it, it is gone.

Sadly you cannot unless you can reverse engineer IE to remove those bars, the tab bar would be not a great option as where would you review multiple pages?

Dont think off hand you can do the same in Fx either, just looked at my Minefield install, Chrome is a slightly smaller real estate browser but still has tabs as IE and Fx do.

Was afraid of that. Oh well, it was worth asking. On my 7.75 inch high screen, lappy, that crap takes up about 1.5 inches.

If either of the two bars I pointed to could be eliminated, it would be an improvement.

Thanks for the quick replies anyway.
