IE Hijacked-have run fix but still having problem

Whenever i try to open IE I get this error message:


AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2600.0 ModName: dvd4free.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0000234a


I am now accessing the internet via Opera.

About this time I noticed I also could not access my Macromedia Applications Dreamweaver MX and Firworks - I uninstalled them and reinstalled DW however no matter how often I put in my serial number, it accepted it, then promted me for it again. I'm guessing the two problems are related as you need IE/Firefox/Morzilla to register with Macromedia.

Despite all these runs I still cannot open IE. Can anyone suggest anything or recommend what I need to delete from the Hijack Log. Should I reinstall iE and Outlook?

What I have done already:
1. Have run Ewido in Safe mode [it located 7 infections - see log below]
2. Have run CleanUp! in Safe Mode
3. Have run MS Antispyware [clear]
4. Have run MS Malicious Removal Tool [clear]
3. Have installed HijackThis and run a log [provided].
4. Ran Registry Mechanic as I thought the problem was here.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

I have followed the instructions at http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407

However I cannot access the following as they require access with IE and I can no longer use this because of the problems I am having - I could not therefore run:

Bitdefender or Panda ActiveScan

When I clicked on http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif I just got an image of a grenade and nothing else happened.

For some reason I am not able to add attachment files, perhaps it is because I am using Opera and not IE, so apologies for printing the log files.

I still cannot access iE.

Now, Copy and Paste C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dvd4free.dll into the box – If it exists, it will show up in Blue. Check the option to Delete on Reboot and Click the Red X and Yes to the confirmation message. A message will ask if you want to reboot now – Click YES and allow your PC to reboot.

• If you get an error message about Pending Operations, just reboot your computer manually.

After you complete the above, see if you can run IE. If you can run the online scans in the READ ME and attach the logs.
