IE is intermittent

I have a Dell Dimension E310 with WIndows Media Center installed. It had some infections, Trojans and Malware, which were cleaned out. Now, when I click on IE it may or may not come up. Sometines it will start to load the Home page and stop with only the the Web Page border loaded and the desktop still seen. Other times it will load and give an error of unable to locate 'www%2Fmicrosoft.com#'. And, at other times, it will load with no problem.

I have run the winsock.exe and xp_fix.exe. I upgraded IE from Ver 6 to Ver 7. When Microsoft tried to install the XP SP3 Update it fails. Opera has no problem, so I am pretty sure it is an IE problem.

This is an update to the problem. I gave combofix a try and it found a dll that the others had missed. It was:

After allowing combofix to finish its work I deleted this dll and the IE appears to be working now.
