Background: My computer was officially connected to the internet about 12 hours ago. It was just recently reformatted just as routine maintenance by my brother (so it was connected while it was at his home but I can not tell you if anything odd happened). Needless to say when I use IE and type say www.majorgeeks.com in the address bar and hit enter I receive the follow error message: "The requested look up key was not found in any active activation context." Interesting... Well then I thought to look at the internet options and when i go to tools internet options i receive the following message: "this operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator." Double Interesting, especially since when going to the users panel I am the admin (figured I would check in case the brother messed up making my profile). I can connect to the internet as well as navigate links on already loaded pages (MSN was the default home page). But when I attempted to search for the active scan by Panda using MSN's search at the top of the page not on the IE bar, I could get to the page and click on everything except for the "scan now." When I do click on the "scan now" i get the same "The requested look up key was not found in any active activation context" error. So unless there is something I am generically missing and my brother was half asleep when he did the fresh install (which honestly could happen lol). Somethings up. The only other programs that have been used in the last 12 hours were Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Lineage2, and I let windows grab the install information for a Logitech webcam. (All of which was done prior to me even thinking about surfing the net on that pc.)

So that brings up to the current. I ran the requested scans and am debating if i can figure out a way to navigate to the online scans (just for fun, like working with out a mouse of any kind) But I want to give you all a chance to check the logs and tell me what you think. The only "issues" that seemed to be found is windows update is turned off, there is not currently a virus scanner installed (well now there is I suppose from the read me run me section) and windows firewall is disabled...

Here you go! (oh hope it goes with out saying that I am placing the logs and a jump drive and posting on the forums from a different pc...)

Routine maintenance????? This should never be necessary accept in extreme cases of malware infections or sever Windows crashes.

You need to find some one else to do your reinstalls. You have NO PROTECTION software installed at all. This PC should never have been connected to the internet until it had proper protection installed. However, you are luck as it is not infected.... at least not yet. You also do not have a copy of Sun Java installed which may explain why you cannot click on various things on websites like Panda's.

You are not having malware problems. You are having reinstall problems and I suggest that you post in the Software Forum. Also read the below

Not really true. You are a member of the Adminstrator Group but this is not the same as being the Administrator which is a separate user account. You may want to try giving the below a run to see if it helps with your permissions problems which were also probably a result of this reinstall:

    Resetting Registry and File Permissions

No the READ & RUN ME does not install any protection software. It only installs a few on demand scanners. They do not provide protection. And having your firewall disable along with no other protection software is extremely dangerous.

Ok I suppose some people reformat and others don't... Needless to say its good that I have no malware. In the interim on waiting for a response I solved the issue. Corrupt IE. I probably would have never even noticed it if I didn't need to use it to get my basic program downloaded. Sorry I didn't tell you guys sooner I fixed it.

Yes I realize no protection is bad :-o . But well *shrugs* it happened. You will be happy to know that while figuring out that IE was corrupted I have put zone alarm and Norton on my PC...

If you took time to review my logs I am sorry. You guys have helped me out in the past with some other machines that when my machine was being weird I came to you guys first. Next time I promise to do a little searching before I panic.
