Hi, I joined the forum yesterday in order to get help recovering my XP system from a major attack by trojans and viruses - thought Trend Micro was switch on, but has been off for three months.

I believe I am clean now and most things work fine apart from internet explorer (version 7.0.5730.11) which can only run "with add-ons disabled". How can this be repaired?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. John

    Hi

Try resetting IE to default values as a first step, click in IE, Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and choose Reset IE to Default.

Then check all your Add-ons and enable one at a time to see which one causes the normal IE loading issue, as one of them may well be corrupt or linked to malware, which is why it maybe best to see what the experts in the malware forum think of your logs you have posted, http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=153626
