CatT I can't follow the rules

where are these located in XP? i am trying to find a whole bunch of webpages visited before i accidentally (or intentionally) flush things out (winwash, CC etc).

in 98 it was pretty obvious, but here i can't find ANYTHING relevant. windows, windows/temp, windows/offline web pages, windows/system32 -- nothing looks right!

    TIA.

They're on the default tab of Internet Options - Browsing History. You could also click on Favorites - History tab.

    Typically, they are located under:

    c:\documents and setings\(your username)\local settings\temp for the temp files
    IE temp files are located:
    c:\documents and settings\(your username)\local settings\temporary internet files

But, you won't find these if you go through explorer, unless you were to do the following:

Open explorer (my computer), click tools, folder options, click view tab, click the radial button under "Hidden files and folders" ---> Show hidden files and folders

Also, uncheck "Hide Protected operating system files (Recommended)"

Then you can go where you need to.

Or ignore the above and click START, then RUN, then type (or copy/paste) in:

%userprofile%\local settings\temp (press enter) This is for temp
%userprofile%\local settings\temporary internet files (press enter) This is for internet files
