Yesterday i was trying to go to a website (newegg.com) and the page would not load. I assumed that the newegg server was down, so i waited and waited for about 2 hours. The page still wouldnt load so i went to my friends house, and attempted to load the page. It worked perfectly, so i ordered my stuff from there. I went home, assuming the newegg server was back up, but my PC still wouldnt go to the site. I called a few people, and it works fine in all of their homes, but not on either of my pc's, even though every other site loads just fine. I have tried in IE6, Firefox, and Opera browsers, same prob. Have cleared cookies, history, ran virus scan, and ad aware.....nothing that i can see would cause such a problem except my network. Any ideas?? BTW it is a wireless network i am using.

are you using any type of firewall/internet security software. Try temporarily disabling and see if it works.

Can try typing ipconfig /flushdns from a command prompt

You can try looking at the hosts file on your computer. It's located at c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc. Open it in wordpad or notepad. Its contents should look like:

    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost

Otherwise it may be a temporary problem with your isp, wait 24hrs and try again.

The only other thing I can think of is if you set your security settings in your browser too high.

I'm sure other people will have some ideas also?

What happens when you type ping www.newegg.com from a command prompt?

you can also try the spyware forum, check to see if your system is clean. I know you said you have run antivirus and adaware, but it doesn't hurt to have a more comprehensive check.
