IE won't open links

    After trying to use Hijack This to remove a background upload issue, my IE won't open any links, so I can't download programs to search for Malware.


    Click - and I get the standard IE fail page. Same for download links on Major Geeks.

    I have Ashampoo Anti-Spyware and Anti-Virus and the former has a range of tools shown in the attached pic.

    How to get IE back and get rid of this background activity?

    can you boot into safe mode with networking enabled?
