Ran this by the Malware board with the logs, but nothing showed up but a few loose folders to remove. Removed those and rebooted but still have the problems.

Problem began with brother's family visiting mother over the 4th of July, and one of their children downloading a program onto the PC (some program called Iminent...Smileys and emotiocons no less). It was one of those browser based teen programs. OS is Windows 7 Professional, and browser is IE10.

After attempting to access GMail online, connection now times out. Initially there were also pop ups and redirects which seem to have vanished after I ran a System Restore. Also, the homepage was changed. As far as connecting goes, GMail and Facebook seem to be the big problems. When opening Facebook get a message that "Revocation information for the security certificate of this site is not available. Do you want to proceed?" That wasn't happening before, and it's very aggravating.

Also, there is a serious lag before pages can be scrolled or before anything can be added to a text box. It's a 5 to 10 second wait before login is available on any site. With Major Geeks pages, there is about a 8 second delay before scrolling is available. I know this was not present before as I used the PC before they downloaded the program(s), and the pages were quick to load and all features were available instantly. The lag really annoying as hell.

Before coming here I ran System Restore as I mentioned, and the Iminent program was removed. I think what's left is the lingering after affects of some sort of malware in the registry and some messed up Windows settings.

    Symptoms-
    Changed home page (Fixed)
Initially redirects and pop ups (seem to be gone)
    Unable to access GMail
Internet page load lag (scroll and text boxes unavailable for 5-10 seconds)
    Facebook message

I'm harping on the malware angle, but I really just want to get into GMail, get the lag out of page loads, and get rid of the stupid Windows Facebook certificate message. Thanks for any help...
