Ie11 Always On Top

I have a number of windows active in W7
One of these is an IE11 widow with a number of tabs open
After a while this develops the trait of always being on top, i.e., if I click on another window on the taskbart, e.g., excel, I can't see it because the IE11 window is hiding it. It no longer puts the "active" window on top.
This is particularly problematical when down/up loading files, for example, when one needs the IE11 window and the select window open at once.

Is this a recognized issue ? Is there a solution for it ? Has my copy of W7 gone wrong ?

Go to Windows Explorer and select Tools>Folder Options>View> and check the "Launch folder windows in a separate process" check box.

If that doesn't work, try right clicking the taskbar and unlock the taskbar, then lock it again.

    Thanks Tim.
I don't like the sound of Xmouse (your second solution) as I am already fed up with things popping up to show you what they are when the mouse is over them, obscuring a part of the screen I want to see (my mouse control is not that good ?)

So, trying your initial suggestion, I couldn't find how to 'Tools' in Windows Explorer, and in IE11 menu there wasn't a 'Folder Options' on drop down menu. However, I found a "Launch folder windows as separate process" check box in CP>Folder Options>View, but checking that didn't change the situation, tried unchecking, and also tried 'restore defaults' to no avail.
I then unlocked the Taskbar and locked it again, but this didn't seems to fix the problem either.

To give another example of what has changed (the problem), if I have IE11 open and displayed, clicking the firefox icon on the taskbar apparently does nothing - IE11 is still displayed. Firefox is only showed (revealed) when I minimize the IE11 window (it's partly revealed if I reduce the size of the IE11 window. This always on top behaviour only happens with IE11

Yes I have Real Player, it appears in my icons in system area of my taskbar: does this mean it's running ? I very rarely use it

You can try using Revo Uninstaller to remove that program. Then reboot and see if the problem persists.
