IE6 problem

After opening and closing at times, IE will not open. I get no error messages and usually end up rebooting my computer, then it will go back to normal. I do notice that when windows is restarting, ie will finally come up but then the computer reboots. Any help?

I'm using a Dell 4700, Pentium 4, 2800, 512 mem, Windows XP Home.

You can Reinstall I.E. from your XP Disk.

Put in your disk and then click Search from your start menu.

Search All files and Folders. Make sure the Hidden files and folders option is checked. Also System Folders and sub folders should be checked.

Type: ie.inf in the search window.

When you see ie.inf in the results Right Click this and then click Install.

When the install is done Re-Boot.

 

Have not found the XP CD that came with my Dell yet. Tried the fix from baldesofhalo, but still need to find my Cd. Thanks for your quick reply. The problem only happens once or twice a day, just annoying. Will keep looking for CD.

 

Found CD and followed instructions. Will wait to see if it worked, has not done it since. You guys are great, thanks again for your speedy reply.

 

Did not solve problem. Any other suggestions?

 

What Scans have you run?

 

I run ccleaner, adaware, and spybot at least once a day.
