This is an odd question someone asked me today. She basically has website open in IE7 that she uses frequently for work and keeps minimized when not in use. While checking her email she gets links to open, when doing so it opens a new window(which is what she wants), but when she closes the window her previous website is now maximized. This sounds silly I know but she would like it so that it goes right back to the email, apparently this is how it was in IE6. Any thoughts :confused

Not sure if this will fix it. I don't really use IE7, or IE8 for that matter, but, since I'm on IE8, hope this may help the matter. :confused

Click tools, internet options, settings button under tabs, click the radial button "Always open pop-ups in a new tab".

Somewhere in here, should be the final result. I hope. :)

I would advise her to also do the following:

    1. From IE, In Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Browsing, UNselect: "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts."

    2. From Windows Explorer, open Organize, Folder and Search Options, and on the General page, under Browse Folders, check: "Open each folder in its own window."

    3. Check her email client's options/preferences to see if there is an option to go to the next email, or the email home screen, when she closes the attachment's window.
