Vista Home Premium SP1 32bit (logged in with an Administrator account) - Internet Explorer 7 - Here's the problem: something in the security settings is blocking downloads (see screen shot below). I get a message stating that my current security settings will not allow downloads. If I manually add a site to the "Trusted Sites" list (for example, I had to add *.majorgeeks.com to download a defrag app from MG), I can then download w/o problems, but being forced to do this on EVERY web site is a pain-in-the-you-know-what. I'm certain there's a quick and easy setting to fix this, but I haven't been able to find it.

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated!

    Hi dlb

Try resetting IE7 from the Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab and Reset, also do the same in the Security tab and Reset all Zones.

Disable any security apps to test and unsinstall anything that looks like a toolbar. Also try IE7 in its Safe no-addons mode to just check if a 3rd party add-on could be causing this.

Sorry for the late reply - but resetting all the zones worked fine. Don't know how I missed it or why I didn't think of it, but sometimes the obvious goes right over my head!!

    THANKS AGAIN HALO!!!
