    Hi,

For the past few days Outpost has blocked Internet Explorer on my pc with the reason: "Disable all activity for iexplore.exe because it run hidden".
First I ran all updates for XP, which included IE8. This made no difference.
Task Manager shows two iexplore.exe processes when Internet Explorer is open, but none when it is closed.
Stopping either of the processes from running results in BSOD with message including:
    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    STOP: 0x0000000A (0x0000F782, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x806E6A8E)

Over approx one month leading to the first outpost block my pc crashed a handful of times with BSOD.
Recent Spybot scans turned up a couple of instances of Win32.Sdbot.aad Fraud.UltraAntiVir2009, and an entry for Microsoft Windows SecurityCentre_disabled. All apparently fixed by Spybot.

I've run all steps in the READ AND RUN ME FIRST thread (hopefully correctly).

When ComboFix was run I thought I'd completely disabled Norton AV, however a Malicious Script Detected message box was displayed:
    Object: File System Object
    Activity: Open Text File
    File: C:\32788R22FWJFW\av.vbs
I had to Ctl Alt Del and end the NAV task before ComboFix would continue.

Attached to this post are the SAS, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and RR logs.

The remaining MG logs are attached to my next post.

Any help you can provide in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Michael

Your logs are clean......I would suggest that you uninstall Outpost and try a different firewall to see if you have the same issue. If so, I suggest you post in the software forum for additional assistance.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Thanks for all your help.
Still got the iexplore / outpost problem so will pursue this once I've followed your clean-up procedure.

You are most welcome....( I would suggest you try a different browser to test the issue).
