IIS 7 Issues

I am beginning to not like IIS 7. My server is a Windows Server 2008 with the latest patches and IIS 7. I created a folder under inetpub called SSLROOT as I wanted a separate folder for secure sites. I put a secure certificate on that folder. I have several folders under SSLROOT that contain various websites. I'm not redirecting, although that is another issue, or doing anything fancy. When I try to browse the site, locally or on the web, I get file not found errors. I've determined that when I access the site, it tries to look for the site in the WWWROOT directory rather than SSLROOT where it is. The basic settings are correct pointing to the physical path in SSLROOT.

Does anyone know if IIS 7 has a default setting to go to WWWROOT rather than what I've set. My web.config files seem fine. I'm lost.

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave
