Hi everyone…
I installed IIS (internet Information Services) with FTP over Win XP Pro machine. I’m able to access FTP via browser(ftp://localhost or ftp://192.168.1.3) or via command prompt using anonymous user name. My question is how to access files in the local computer using FTP from another PC
Thanks

You should be able to use either ftp://yourip or ftp://yourhostname on your local LAN.

To access from the internet, you will have to modify your NS records, and possibly the firewall...

Yeah, hosting your own website is quite a bit of work!

I’m getting back on this problem again. I was able to access FTP server from different PC, but on the same LAN. I’m still not able to get connection from the internet. I opened port 21, disabled windows firewall and forwarded port 20 to 21 on the router ( I have cable modem and wireless NETGEAR router). Should I use Internet IP for FTP Server. LAN IP works great for the PCs in the LAN.
Please advise
Thanks
Dani
