Man, with the heat you've had I would be shocked if you did fold!:eek Welcome back.:)

I might be back soon if I can kluge a second PSU (420W w/18A 12V rail) to help with my GTX260's needs as the TX750W can barely handle that along with the GTX470 as I'd rather not buy a new PSU for now if I can help it.. Fold on brotha!:major

Folding produces a dry heat Augie. ;) I only have one box folding in my tin can, this one is at another house. My 'fee' for tech support. :-D It has been one wicked evil hot summer. Was 104° Thursday according to the sign outside of a church on my way to work.

Who knows who is going to fold the segment of a protein but take heart at the knowledge that it won't go to waste. Take the case of some Einstein @ home folks that found a rare double pulsar just recently. Way cool!:major

Amateurs discover pulsar with Einstein @ home software and become stars themselves

Obviously, most of us can't have a home lab to test proteins.;) Still, it's a 'feel good' story that shows that this 'Distributed Computing' actually works.:)

I agree with you fully Augie in that @folding works and is a valuable resource for science.

Just one other recent story that's quite interesting is
Gamers beat algorithms at finding protein structures.

Oops! That might not have been the best place to pull that article from.:innocent

Not Greek. Have been accused of driving the special short bus, but no any Special Operations stuff. :-D

"The Greek phrase Molōn labe! (Μολὼν λαβέ; approximate Classical Greek pronunciation [molɔ̀ːn labé], Modern Greek [moˈlon laˈve]), meaning "Come and take them" is a classical expression of defiance reportedly by King Leonidas in response to the Persian army's demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae. It corresponds roughly to the modern equivalent English phrase "over my dead body", "bring it on" or, most closely, "come and get it". It is an exemplary use of a laconic phrase."

"In America , both the original Greek phrase and its English translation are often heard from pro-gun activists as a defense of the right to keep and bear arms. It began to appear on web sites in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In the wake of firearm seizures during Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent defiance by the New Orleans government of Federal court orders to return seized weapons, the phrase has again gained popularity among Second Amendment supporters."

And this relates to Folding because the ancient Greeks ran a folding client on their abacus. Or maybe not... :-D

Hey Fred, is it getting too hot to fold for ya again?:( Kinda stupid question as it seems like 100F down there ATM. :foolish:)

Yes, it would be to hot to fold if you do it outside... :-D Like most Southerners, before I moved in, I captured of of those Freon Devils, and tossed it into sacred Central Air temple. Keeps me nice and cool in the summer, and nice and warm in the winter.

Does need his Priest to come by every year of so and check him out. Every once in a while, he gets rebellious and the Priest must make him work. ;)

As long as you don't have to pay the temple a monthly tithe, then it's all good.:p:-D It's 60 ATM here and 80 inside!:eek

The Freon Demon does add to the monthly electricity bill, and of course his Priest costs money, but cool air when it is 110° outside with the heat index... Priceless. :-D
