i'm being plagued by pop-ups!!!

    i'm working with a dell 4600 windows 98 and the pop-ups are totally out of control. what can i do about them without buying some software to avoid them.

    download adware6 and spybot search&destroy all these are free . once d/loaded run them both. they should sort it out . also delete all the unwanted cookies and the temp folder contents . these programs you can get from m/geeks .

    Might be the ad trojans from last weekends attack. Google search TROJ_WINPUP.B or TROJ_REVOP.A. Link to TrendMicro. They have fixes for these and their "housecall" free online virus scan.
