I'm bragging on you guys...

After joining,doing the "Read me and run" ,getting help,I was SO happy,I wrote this -

"A quick look through the most popular tech forums left me with a shortlist,from which I chose Major Geeks ,not just because of the nice green homepage with a cool icon, but because they only let qualified helpers respond to questions,promise to get back to you in reasonable time frame,and had extremely easy steps,clearly laid out,on to how to proceed..Like "Basic computer maintenance everyone should do"

Very nice write-up indeed! However, not all forums are created equal as I sadly found out near 7 years ago with my first forays onto the 'net to get help and kept getting jerks telling me to reformat for the simplest (not to me at the time) of problems.:mad

It is sadly quite rare that someone takes the time to do what you have done and that is to educate the regular person that wouldn't have had any clue before, that great sites like this exist.

I'll take the time to register to the squidoo site just to give your post some more stars. I think it's that important! The 'net needs more folk like you.

Great article. Love your title. You might want to explain exactly why only one Anti-Virus though. Even if it's not technical, it's good to say why. I've done it by accident, and had to fix it from... DOS... *shakes head*

I caught on to majorgeeks site many years ago. I have never posted any questions or replys because you guys are always on top of things. All I ever did was do a little research within the site to get any questions I had. From this site I have been able to build this computer I'm on now completely from scratch. All the programs I run are freeware, except for the XP which I have removed and replaced many internal programs with (I belive) better ones from advice ya'll have given to others.
In short ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND THANK YOU'S.
