I'm building this brand new computer and I'm getting this error message...

    It says reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I have an ASUS P5K Deluxe Motherboard and the hard drive is a 1TB sata drive. This is the first time I'm building this type of system, so some things are new to me. Does it matter what sata port I put the hard drive on? if it's 1, 2, 3 etc I know red is master and black is slave? I also already went into the bios and made the DVD rom the first boot device.

    is the DVD or CD drive installed properly? could be something simple like that.

    you were right that was the problem the dvd wasn't installed properly.
    Now it seems to be working and i'm installing windows...
