I'm having Spy Sweeper issues!!! please help!!!!!

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Webroot's Spy Sweeper after suspecting that it had been infected, but now I can't upgrade the software from version 3.2 to 3.5 anymore. I was able to do that before I had uninstalled it, but now, when I go to the web page that I am directed to after clicking on "Update Program" in the Spy Sweeper Options menu, a message stating "Internal Error: bad keycode" appears after I try to download the upgrade. However, the keycode that I put was correct, and the keycode that appears on this page is correct as well. I believe that I am a registered user since that web page shows my e-mail address, but on the Webroot support site, I see advice that says that you must try reregistering your product if you're not sure or if something is wrong. I tried doing this, but it does not recognize me as a user. On one of the pages, it tells me to put my registration number, which should be given on a green slip of paper in the inside of the DVD box, but my box never had one.

The Webroot customer support site is also very complicated and tells me to submit a "ticket" online if I'm having issues, but I don't know how to do this. I'm on the "Submit a Ticket" web page, but there's no link I see that will actually let me do this. I'm very disappointed that I can't find a Webroot customer service phone number. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it very much.

 

Yeah, they have a faq section, and they let customers rate how helpful each answer is to the most common topics, but most of the customers rate their service as a 1 out of 5 stars. I don't really know how to email them...I'm confused because of the weird interface of the site. Maybe I'll take pics of those things you mentioned. O and lol, I have all those free spyware removal programs that you suggested. I suspected that Spy Sweeper became infected because it stopped finding items, and Spybot and Ad-Aware started to find items. Before my suspicions rose, Spy Sweeper used to find many items while Spybot and Ad-Aware would barely pick up anything after a Spy Sweeper scan. Does anyone else have suggestions, or has this happened to anyone with Spy Sweeper????

Damn, their customer service hours on phone are Mondays though Fridays from 9 am to 5 pm in the US, but I can't hear what time zone she the answering machine said. Buncha crap...I'll try tomorrow.

 

I just called the customer service phone number today, and I have to say that my experience with their customer service was great. I was quickly directed to a helper, and he sent me an e-mail that had a link to download the upgrade. The link worked just fine. Hey Matacumbie, how did you find the number for Webroot customer service anyway?

 

I think it was under Contact Us on the support page. Your lucky, sometimes all you get is a email address.

Glad you got it worked out, I know how frustating that can be. Also, good to know that you were so satisfied with Webroot customer service. That is important.
