When I try to activate my Disk Management I get - not connected to remote computer. So I went in and add it but i'm having trouble getting into my component services it just freezes. I guess I still need to expand component services click computer, rt click my computer then properties, click Com Security tab click anonymous logon click remoter access.

I really don't have any idea what I'm doing, I would appreciate any help.

    Cheers,

Hi Tonk, it might help to post what your OS is, (XP? Vista?) you have, so the right one can answer you ;)

Someone with knowledge of your OS will be along. ;)

Hi Tonk, are you on a dial up network, or hi-speed cable? :confused
I am sure someone with knowledge on this will be along... Myself, I am on dial up, and the "remote computer" is my computer on a dial up connection.. I am not sure what it is on cable or a hi-speed connectin, but I am sure someone else will have an answer for you. Very Interesting. ;)

Hi Tonk, I ma sure someone will be along that is knowledgeable in this, and help you.. I never had to mess with the "Disk Management " ever, but I would suggest you check to make sure your user name and password are correct on your ISP connection on your computer..

Sometimes, just one letter or number off, and it will really give ya some errors.... Double check that, and see if there was maybe a typo...

Also, have you contacted your ISP? Most of the time, they will be able to trouble shoot that error for you.. I know I called once, and was told my computer WAS the remote computer... :-o That was a real eye opener.. Glad I am not the only one here on dial-up too ;)

You lost me on the "activate" part.
Go into Control Panel, click on Administrative Tools. Next click on Computer Management and in the left pane, click on Disk Management.
What do you want to do. Your hard drive and its partitions are pictured under Disk 0. If you have another hard drive or possibly an internal card reader, it will be Disk 1. Your optical drives will also be shown.

Again, you went in where? What exactly did you add?
