I'm Serious! I need help

Hello everyone
I'm a new user to MajorGeek and I hope you guys can help me...
I am getting all sorts of pop-ups, the 1 i addressed in the last thread and I also see a pop-up warning sign on toolbar, it says...

Security Alert: NetWorm-i.Virus@fp
Type:Virus/Network Worm
Damage Level: High
DesCprition: Virus that infects executable files.
Advice: Delete/quarantine immediately.
Protection: click this baloon to download certified Antivirus software.

Read and Run Me First wasn't that helpful and when I downlond Pc Protector It did scan to check the infected files but It asked to buy the package.
It will be helpful If anyone can clearly address the steps to follow and something that is free!
