I'm sure this will sound stupid..but

recently ...like in the last two day's the hour glass has stayed with my cursor and does'nt disappear as it normally would when the computer would be doing a task ....any idea how I get it back to normal ?

 

Have you tried rebooting? (sorry if this seems obvious)

 

Maybe your computer is contaminated with spyware or virus and is busy working all the time. Check your processes and CPU usage on taskmanager.
