I'm the victim of a Lexmark takeover

I went cheap and bought a Lexmark all-in-one. When I istalled it, it staged a cue of all my photo stuff. I no longer have the options that the windows photo download wizard used to give me. When I access the scanner and camera wizard it has Lexmark listed as the avenue to do the transfers. Is there any way to get my wizard back to the way it used to be??? I spent 2 hours on live chat with someone from Lexmark only to be told it can't be done and they're so sorry for my inconvenience.:cry What if I uninstall the Lexmark? Will I get back my windows options?? Thanks in advance for your help and please know I'm not very computer literate.
