I'm using WinAntiVirus 2006 for protection - is this bad?

I am in the beginning stages of Read and Run Me First ...I have malware problems...should I uninstall Winantivirus 2006 (Winantivirus 2005 is mentioned as a Rouge Tool). Can someone give me some insight on WinAntivirus?

Then come back here and see if there is anything special you have to do to un-install or remove it. There are a lot of folks here that can and will help if you need it.
