A very simple question, what is the current best\most used software to work with images ?

I use PSP 7 mostly. I know alot of people who use Photoshop 7, but I'm not used to it, so I don't use it much.

yes, I know, but what kind of editing do you want to do ?

photo manipulation? resizing? etc etc.. essentially, what EXACT function(s) do you wish to perform regularly. ?

I ask this because there are apps that are wicked expensive that have wild functionality but will do the same things as smaller, less functional apps that might be free.

Photoshop 7 is the most widely used Photo-manipulation software in the industry.

Others around are good at a fraction of the cost & have been listed above.

JUST one thing to think about now tho is DOES your printer give photo quality images?

WOW ... thumbs up to the Irfanview proggie. Nice to see that little jewel mentioned.

Adobe Photoshop is the "graphic editor of choice" by most 'pros' ... but I like PSP myself. low overhead - easy to use. If you're still at the point of asking what's best - I'd personally suggest PSP ... if somewhere along the line it's not strong enough for your needs ... then go ahead with photoshop.

Photoshop has a world of functionality but honestly, I hardly use it because I find it's ergonomics to the crappiest yet. Adobe needs somone to redesign the interface.
