    robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

    If I have any photos on my Website I make my Photos 2. inch Heigh by what ever the program needs to keep then in the right Ratio.

    Then I upload then to my Webpage and the code I use to ajust the size of how it will look on screen is this.

    heigh="120"

    and I let the Browser give the right Width and it all works good.

    But if I upload a photo that is 2. inch Heigh how big can I make it display on my Page before it look Bad?

    width="120"
    height="120"

    For example. Resizing the image closer will speed up load times as well.

    It's not a question of the size. On the left hand it depends on the image resolution and the display resolution on the right hand. I assume there is no conclusive answer.

    And or I don't understand your question. It's a pretty simple thing really to set with and height. I don't know if your doing CSS, tables or what. I don't get the left hand, right hand thing.

    The left hand, right hand thing was my reply to robertbiferis question. I guess he understood how to change width and height of an image (he already wrote how he did it).
    He told us that he uploaded a picture with an initial height of only 2 inches. His issue is (for my understanding) what is the maximum height for that image to enlarge before it looks grainy.
    Sorry if you missunderstood my reply. I'm afraid the reason is that I'm not a native English...

    There's not enough information here to give you an answer. Robert I know I've answered you a few times on scanners and the like so I'm assuming you don't want theft of your images and you're asking how small should images be so that anyone who does steal it gets very little use out of it. The answer to that question is actually to either watermark it or not upload it at all. But to answer your other question most photographers will spout off 300 dpi is the lowest you can get a good print from, but I've seen pretty darned good prints from 120 dpi and I've even seen usable prints from as low as 72 dpi, something the photoshop students will tell you can't be done. It has as much to do with viewing distance though. A billboard for example is typically printed at 20 dpi.

    Back to the too little info part. You say you've resized to 2 inches high. If you're scanning 35mm film it's already starting out at less than 1 inch high, yet you can get quite a bit of detail out of it. The key is the pixel count. 2700 dpi at one inch is the same amount of pixels as 100 dpi at 27 inches, yet on screen they are identical. http://www.rideau-info.com/photos/mythdpi.html

    And one more thing, if another computer user can see your image they can download your image. Actually if they can see it they already have it, they just need to tell their computer to keep it and not discard it. Embedded watermarks are the only real security, and they can be bypassed by anyone who really wants too and has enough talent.

    No I am sorry this is what I ment to say.

    All my photos I upload to my Website are 2. inch Heigh by whatever.
    And I make them this small so they Upload faster.

    Now with the Code I can make them display as BIG as I want.

    But what is to big before they look Bad to the eye?

    When I use the code Heigh="120"
    Am I right this is giving the Height in Pixals?

    Well I have a Logo I made and it is 2. inch Heigh by 7. inch Wide.

    It is a Banner type Loge on my Webpage.

    Now when I do the code I do Height="100"
    and it looks good.

    I let the Browser take car of the Width.

    But when a photo is 2. ich Heigh I ment how big can I make it on screen befor it looks bad to people?

    I have "100" for Height but if I do "325" is to big?

    Resize the image. Just because you can resize it in HTML does not mean it will look good. The image needs to be as close to the actual size as possible.

    Right click the image, click View Image. That's the biggest you'll likely want to go (assuming you don't have a right click blocker and you actually see the image on a page all by itself).

    I should have said to right click that image on your website, in your web browser, then click View Image and you should see it full sized.

    Didn't I just answer it? Are you trying to build your post count? He has the image, he can open it in an image program then size it close to the width and height he wants... As I said.

    That is what I thought but some times the photos do look good even if I resize them.

    But one more thing when I use the code
    height="100"

    Is this telling the Browser to make the Height in Pixales?

    Trust me, they ALWAYS look better if you resize the image AND moe importantly they load faster so people always see them and the page. You could have a 200, 300, 600 KB image that can slow down page load. Save it as a jpg and reduce quality: keep the original and resize what you have and save as a new jpg image. You can adjust the quality from 0-100% but I usually reduce quality by about 25% for a REALLY small, fast loading image. PNG tends to be the largest files and GIF does not easily allow you to resize with good quality.

    Yes, width works like height.

    Sorry I am loosing you?

    If I upload a photo that is say 3. inch by what ever you say keep it as is when it displays I get this.

    But how what code keeps the photo as is?

    I know how to use the width=" " code and the height=" " code.
    But if I want it to display at it's real size do I not put and width and height is this what you meen?
